* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Rockford lawmaker’s bill would make COVID-19 vaccine requirements illegal

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WREX) � A Rockford lawmaker wants to make it illegal for employers to require you to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

State Rep. Joe Sosnowski filed in the middle of February.

The bill would make it illegal for an employer in Illinois to require a vaccine that was approved for emergency use of authorization by the FDA.

The COVID-19 vaccine would fall under this category as it was approved under an emergency use of authorization.

The bill has moved to the rules committee for more debate.
