The organization has found an increased need for donations and volunteers due to the pandemic.
Brock Thornsbrough, is a hospice chaplain. Since he has been unable to make his rounds due to COVID-19, his company has agreed to shift his duties to where the community needs help.
"There happened to be a Facebook post about needing volunteers for the food bank, and I sent a Facebook post, and they responded back and in a couple days, I was on the front line serving"
"So whenever COVID-19 hit, a lot of those volunteers didn't feel comfortable coming in, in groups. And we understand that, and we were a little concerned too. there was so much uncertainty," said Chief Advancement Officer, Lisa Church.
Staff say the increase in food insecurity in the area in combination with COVID-19 precautions have left them in great need of volunteers and donations.
