(WSIL) -- More than 50 new COVID-19 cases were reported Thursday in southern Illinois.
Of the eleven counties reporting additional cases, Jackson County had the most with 15.
On Thursday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,772 new cases of COVID-19, including 18 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 176,896 cases, including 7,478 deaths, in Illinois.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
- Females: One child under 10, one teenager, and one in their 30s
- Males: One in their 20s and one in their 80s
Franklin County has had 117 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of the positive cases, county health officials say 59 have recovered.
GALLATIN COUNTY
- One male in his 70s
Egyptian Health Department says the man is at home in isolation. Gallatin County has had 43 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
HAMILTON COUNTY
- Female: One child and one in her 30s
- Male: One in his teens and one in his 40s
There have been 19 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Hamilton County. The health department says ten people have recovered, eight others are currently isolating at home.
JACKSON COUNTY
- Female: Four in their 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 40s, one in her 50s and one in her 70s
- Male: Three teens, three in their 20s and one in his 30s
To date, there have been 588 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 19 related deaths. Currently, 152 active cases are being managed.
Jackson County Health Department says, of the cases reported in its county in July, nearly 70% have been individuals in their teens and twenties.
The department has issued a "public health alert" to raise awareness in young adults.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
- Female: Two under 10, one in her 20s, one in her 40s and one in her 70s
- Male: One in his 20s
Jefferson County has had 190 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 14 deaths. On Thursday, 39 active cases were in isolation.
"We ask that residents stay home and away from others if they are having symptoms. A common statement from positive patients has been that they just thought they had a sinus infection at first then symptoms worsened," said the Jefferson County Health Department on its Thursday.
MASSAC COUNTY
- One female in her 20s
There have been 33 cases of COVID-19 in Massac County. Nineteen cases are currently active.
PERRY COUNTY
- Female: Two in their 30s and one in her 40s
Perry County has had 99 cases of COVID-19, including one death. Currently, 26 cases are active; 72 others have been released from isolation.
RANDOLPH COUNTY
- One new case
There have been 425 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including seven deaths, in Randolph County. Currently, 50 individuals are recovering at home; 368 others have been released to resume normal activity.
SALINE COUNTY
- Female: One in her 50s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s
- Male: One in his 40s and one in his 70s
Health officials say there have been 92 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Saline County.
WHITE COUNTY
- Female: One in her 40s
- Male: One in his 60s and one in his 70s
Egyptian Health Department says all of the new cases are at home in isolation. There have been 57 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in White County.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY
- Males: Three in their 20s and one in their 60s
- Females: Two in their 20s, one in their 40s and one in their 50s
To date, there have been 297 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including five deaths, in Williamson County. The local health department says of the positive cases, 175 have recovered.
