Southern Illinois health departments report 25 new cases

(WSIL) -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 25 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Franklin County:

  • New Cases: 3
  • Total Cases: 4466
  • Total Deaths: 63

Jackson County:

  • Female: three teens, one in her forties, one in her sixties, and one in her eighties
  • Male: one in his nineties

Health officials are currently monitoring 61 active cases. Jackson County has had 4,947 cases to date, with 72 related deaths. Of those positive cases, 4,814 individuals released from isolation, including three Saturday.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their 50’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,686 lab confirmed positives, including 53 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • New Cases:  14
  • Total Cases: 7515               
  • Total Deaths: 120

Illinois Department of Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,907 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Saturday, including 25 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,318,998 cases, including 21,802 deaths across the state.

A total of 8,736,002 vaccines have been administered.
