Southern Illinois sees 147 new COVID-19 cases, passing of additional resident

WSIL -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 147 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, and the passing of an additional resident from White County.

Franklin County:

  • Females: one tween, two in their 20’s, three in their 30’s, five in their 40’s, three in their 50’s, four in their 60’s, three in their 70’s, one in their 80’s and one in their 90’s.
  • Males: one toddler, one under 10, one tween, two teenagers, three in their 20’s, five in their 30’s, four in their 40’s, four in their 50’s, one in their 60’s, one in their 70’s and two in their 80’s.

To date, there have been a total of 3,065 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including 34 deaths. Of these positives cases, 1,635 have recovered in Franklin county.

Gallatin County:

  • Female: one in their 50’s
  • Male: one in their 60’s

Gallatin County has a total of 309 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including three deaths.

Jackson County:

  • Female: two preteen, one teen, two in their 20's, one in her 30's, one in his 40's, two in their 50's, and one in her 70's.
  • Male: one preteen, one teen, one in his 20's, one in his 30's, one in his 80's, and one in his 90's

Health officials are currently monitoring 382 active cases. To date Jackson County has had 3,427 cases including 51 related deaths. Of these positive cases 2,994 individuals released from isolation, including 27 Sunday.

Randolph County:

  • 19 cases
  • Genders and ages not provided

The health department confirmed these new cases on December 19th but they were not reported until the next day.

Health officials are currently monitoring 198 cases. To date Randolph County has had 2,977 confirmed cases of the virus including 38 deaths. Of these positive cases 2,741 have recovered.

Saline County:

  • Female: two in their 20’s, two in their 60’s, one in their 70’s, three in their 80’s
  • Male: three in their teens, one in their 20’s, one in their 70’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,646 lab confirmed positives, including 27 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: two in their teens, one in their 20’s, one in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, five in their 80’s, one in their 90’s
  • Male: one in their 30’s, one in their 60’s, one in their 70’s

The Egyptian Health Department is reporting an additional death marking the 16th resident in the county to pass away. The gender and age of the individual has not been provided.

Health officials add the county has had a total of 1,072 lab-confirmed positives.

Williamson County:

  • Females: one under 10, two teenagers, four in their 20’s, five in their 30’s, three in their 60’s, one in their 70’s and two in their 80’s.
  • Males: one under 10, one teenager, three in their 20’s, four in their 30’s, three in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, two in their 60’s and two in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 4,872 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county, including 97 deaths. Of these positive cases, 2,678 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 6,003 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 79 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 900,370 cases, including 15,202 deaths across the state.
