MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) � A man was arrested after law enforcement said a cyber tip was sent to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested Dakota Martin, 21 of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on February 13 at his home.
The warrant Martin was arrested on was for a Possession of Child Pornography charge, the sheriff’s office detailed.
Authorities said a cyber tip was sent in to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on November 21, 2024.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation led to multiple search warrants of social media accounts, internet records and Martin’s home.
Martin was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
