31-year-old seriously injured after crashing into utility pole in southeast Missouri

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (WSIL) -- A 31-year-old man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a utility pole in southeast Missouri on Friday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the crash happened at 11:53 p.m. on January 24, in the area of Highway 84 and I-55.

State police said a Caruthersville man was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when the vehicle travelled off the right side of the road and hit a light pole.

The man was flown to a hospital in Memphis for treatment.

MSHP also reported the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
