* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

45-year-old seriously injured after ATV crash

MADISON COUNTY, Mo. (WSIL) -- A 45-year-old man was seriously injured after an ATV crash on Friday in southeast Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated the crash happened on June 13, at 10 p.m., at 1692 Madison 415 in Madison County.

State police said a 47-year-old was driving a 2022 Can Am Maverick when the vehicle traveled of the right side of a trail and hit and embankment. A 45-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The 45-year-old was taken by ambulance to Mercy South in St. Louis with serious injuries.
