5th Annual Veteran's Appreciation Picnic this weekend in Jefferson County

Picnic preparations underway for Jefferson County veterans and their families

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) � The 5th annual Jefferson County Veterans' Appreciation Picnic is set for Sunday, June 29th.

Organizers say the free event will take place from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. 

All Jefferson County veterans and their families are encouraged to attend. 

The event will feature a barbecue-style picnic and a veterans program.

Organizers say a speaker will also be in attendance. This year it is Marine Cpt. Doug Kroeschen.
