...Gusty Thunderstorms with Small Hail and Cold Air Funnel Clouds
through Early Tonight...

Gusty thunderstorms capable of producing cold air funnel clouds
and small hail are forecast through early tonight. These cold air
funnels are developing underneath thunderstorms that are moving
across the area. Underneath these showers...spinning columns of
air that look like tornadoes may continue to develop. These
funnels usually are very brief and rarely touch the ground. If
these funnels do touch down...they most likely will not cause
damage to life or property.

Cold air funnels are due to very cool air aloft...warm moist air
near the ground...and are usually in association with a strong
area of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Due to
little or no wind shear...they are usually weak and very brief.

After delays, Sesser’s Luna Lounge set to open in July

SESSER, IL (WSIL) -- Illinois' first on-site cannabis consumption lounge is preparing to opens its doors in July after a series of setbacks delayed its intended April launch.

Luna Lounge in Sesser is set to become by providing a venue in the region for entertainment and cannabis to exist side-by-side.

Owner Holly Roeder says working with a building constructed in the 1920's presented unforeseen challenges. Then on top those challenges, the cost of construction materials being on the rise.

"When you start to open up walls and do construction work you realize things are a lot different than what you expect in your original plans," she explains. "As the time progressed we realized we were going to be set back a few weeks, go forward one week and then be set back."

Roeder adds they expect to meet their updated July 10th opening, posting to social media only a handful of tickets for its "Roaring 20's, Prohibition" themed celebration.

"We will be living in here for the next two weeks to make sure that this grand opening is the best party southern Illinois has ever seen," says Roeder.

Once opened, the downtown Sesser business is set to offer music and entertainment every weekend going forward.
