Big Muddy Monster Brew showcases local craft breweries

MURPHYSBORO, ILL. (WSIL) -- The annual Big Muddy Monster Brew Fest will showcase the best of what local craft breweries have to offer.

The event will take place October 5 from noon to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park in Murphysboro. There will be food, live music, and more than 250 beers to sample or buy. 

Officials say 19 breweries will be represented at the event, along with nine home brewers.

Murphysboro Mayor Will Stephens says the event is in need of volunteers. He says they need help with everything from taking tickets to pouring samples.
