CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The City of Carbondale announced the Freedom to Freedom Celebration, a month-long series of free events from June 7 to July 4, 2025.
The African American Museum of Southern Illinois and nearly 30 local organizations will host events starting with the Ms. Juneteenth Pageant and ending with a 4th of July fireworks display at Southern Illinois University.
"By honoring Juneteenth and the Fourth of July together, the Freedom to Freedom Celebration Series invites the Carbondale community to learn, reflect, and celebrate the values of freedom that unite us all," said Mayor Carolin Harvey.
