City of Carbondale offers tree debris removal for residents

This tree was knocked down after the January 5, ice storm in Carbondale.

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The City of Carbondale is offering tree debris removal from residents after the winter storm caused damage throughout the area.

The winter storm brought all types of frozen precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

The ice has formed on all surfaces across the area, causing trees to fall and branches to break due to the weight of the ice.

The debris removal the city is offering is for Carbondale residents only which includes property for homes and apartments up to four bedroom flats.

All the debris must be taken to the curb and residents must notify the city after the tree debris is by the curb. The number to call is 618-457-3275.

Those who need the tree debris removal must contact the city before Friday, January 18, 2025.
