DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) -- All water customers in Du Quoin are under a boil water order.
This information comes from the City of Du Quoin who alerted the public at 12:56 p.m. on February 12, about the order.
The boil water order is for everyone in the city of Du Quoin and the order is in effect immediately and will remain in effect until further notice.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
