MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Lake Egypt Water District issued a boil water order for their customers on June 12.
The boil advisory affects all customers on State Route 37 starting at the Buncombe Water Tower going south to State Route 146. This includes residents on Lick Creek Road, Mt. Zion Road, Buncombe Road, and Old Route 146 Loop, as well as all customers in Buncombe and West Vienna.
All adjoining roads in the affected area are also included in this notice. The Lake Egypt Water District is ensuring all residents are informed and aware of the situation.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
