MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- A community event, focusing on fun activities and helping area residents, is taking place in Marion in May.
The Refuge Temple Church is hosting their 26th Young Hearts with Goals & Purpose Banquet on May 10, starting at 12 p.m. at the Pavilion in Marion at 1602 Sioux Dr.
The Christmas in May event will have catered meals, door prizes and awards.
Guest Speaker of the event is scheduled to be John A. Logan College President Kirk Overstreet.
In 2024, roughly 350 children attended the event. Five scholarships were awarded, along with plenty of games and activities.
