Ferrell Hospital shuts down several services, schools dismiss early, after water main break in Eldorado

ELDORADO, Ill. (WSIL) -- Ferrell Hospital has informed the public they have closed several facilities and services abruptly on Tuesday due a lack of water after a water main break was reported.

Ferrell Hospital informed the public on February 25, at 1:13 p.m., stating effective immediately, they are closing down early the Eldorado Family Medicine, Senior Transitions and Outpatient Therapy Services, due to the water loss.

They also reported Ferrell Hospital's main campus, which includes Ferrell Hospital Family Practice and their Emergency Department, will remain open.

This coming after the City of Eldorado shut down the water to repair the water main break, the hospital stated. They said the water is expected to be shut down for several hours.

The hospital staff urges anyone with afternoon appointments will be called and rescheduled.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause," the hospital stated.

In addition to the hospital, the Eldorado High School stated all their schools dismissed at noon on Tuesday and after school tutoring and play practice has been canceled.

The Egyptian Health Department also closed down all their sites in Eldorado, at 12 p.m. on Tuesday. They said this was due to the water main break as well. They did inform the public their other Egyptian Health Department sites remain open.
