ASHLEY, Ill. (WSIL) -- A section of I-64 WB on Friday will be closed due to deterioration of the pavement.
The Jefferson County government alerted the public of the road closure taking place on December 6, at 5 a.m. through 6 p.m. This will take place on I-64 on the westbound lanes from I-57 near Mt. Vernon to US Highway 51 near Ashley.
This will be due to pavement deterioration.
An alternative route is set up on IL Highway 15 West to US Highway 51 and then north to I-64.
Motorists should expect delays with traffic along the alternative route.
