CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: June 25, 3:27 p.m. -- Power has been restored in the Carbondale area.
ORIGINAL: JUNE 25, 2:15 p.m. -- More than 500 customers are out of power in Carbondale on Wednesday afternoon.
Ameren Illinois is reporting a total of 561 out of power in the eastern portion area of Carbondale on June 25, at 2:10 p.m.
Ameren reported the outage took place at 1:54 p.m. and the cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
As of 2:13 p.m. on June 25, there is not an estimated time for the power to resume.
