...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Summer food drive at Menards to support food pantries

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Menards across the region and nation is now serving as a drop site for a food pantry during June and July 2025. The initiative aims to support the community by collecting non-perishable food items.

Menards offers a range of items for donation, including cereal and soup, available in their grocery department. Donations can be placed in a large collection box near the exit doors.

"We’re excited to participate in this wonderful opportunity while lending a helping hand to the community," a representative said in a release.

The food drive runs from June 1 until July 31, 2025.
