...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Target plans for zero waste, emissions by 2040

(CNN) -- Retail giant Target is pledging to reach zero waste and emissions by 2040.

The company is calling their new sustainability strategy "Target Forward."

In a news release, Target laid out three broad goals:

  • Design and elevate sustainable brands
  • Innovate to eliminate waste
  • Accelerate equity and opportunity

In addition to aiming to be a net zero company by 2040, Target wants to be market leader for inclusive, sustainable brands and experiences by 2030.
