...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

TASC Career and Resource Fair Scheduled in Marion on September 27

MARION, Ill. -- A career and resource fair is coming up in Marion for those who are looking to enhance their future.

It's the Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities (TASC) Career and Resource Fair to take place on September 27, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 147 at 11720 Longstreet Road in Marion.

The fair is in partnership with the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring their resumes, dress business casual and be ready to talk with potential employers about job opportunities.
