(CNN) -- There's a new Cadbury Bunny this year.
Rescue dog "Lieutenant Dan" got the most votes and beat out dozens of other furry competitors for the role in the annual Cadbury commercial.
He was named after the character from Forrest Gump because the pup's back legs were amputated due to a deformity.
Lt. Dan hops around on his front legs like a bunny when not using his wheels to get around.
Dan got some new pink ears from the gig. His owner took home $5,000.
