VIENNA, Ill. (WSIL) -- A watermain break occurred on 6th Street and Green Street in Vienna on Monday morning.

The Vienna Police Department reported the water has been shut off for everyone except residents east of the city park.

When service resumes, there will be a boil water order in effect until further notice.

The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.

When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
