MARION (WSIL) -- The Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge is looking for new volunteers.

A recruitment meeting will be held at the visitor's center Saturday morning. Positions include greeters, trail maintenance, environmental leaders and more.

Anyone can join in to help. Anyone under 18 years old that is interested will need a parent permission form.

One park ranger says, volunteers are key to accomplish refuge and wildlife missions.

"They are people that we admire and appreciate. They are coming here and giving their time and helping us with the refuge and we just love to have extra hands," said Dana M. Malave Miller.

The meeting runs from 10 a.m. until noon at the visitor's center on Highway 148.
