BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. -- A 59-year-old woman faces a murder charge in a deadly shooting investigation in southeast Missouri.
Authorities first started investigating a shooting which left one person dead in the eastern part of Butler County on the evening of March 5.
Deputies with the Butler County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in the 600-block of Butler County Road 544 at 5:30 p.m.
The sheriff's office said one person died after a shooting took place, stemming from a family dispute.
On Wednesday, Butler County Coroner Jim Akers said the victim's name is Matthew Wilkerson. mid 40's of Dudley, Missouri.
Akers said the cause of death is multiple gun shot wounds. An autopsy for Wilkerson is scheduled for Thursday in Farmington.
Lesa Alcorn faces second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges in relation to this shooting investigation.
Alcorn is next due in court on March 14 in the Butler County Courthouse for a counsel status hearing.
