Burglary suspect’s arrest caught on dash camera

MT. VERNON (WSIL) -- A suspect "take-down" in Jefferson County was caught on camera.

Officers with the Mt. Vernon Police Department responded to a burglary in progress Wednesday, August 12, in the 400 block of North Street.

Initial report stated a man busted out the front window of a home.

As the first officer arrive, Ricky Stone, 19 of Mt. Vernon, ran from the home, starting a pursuit. One officer caught up to Stone in their squad car and started a foot pursuit.

Further investigation revealed Stone had damaged a vehicle in the driveway of the home with a brick, broke the glass out of the front door

and began threatening those inside with a metal rod.

Stone was lodged in the Jefferson County Justice Center on charges of Felony Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. His bond is yet to be set.
