Carbondale police investigate fight and shots fired incident, building damaged by gunfire

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities are looking for the public's help in providing information in connection to a fight and shots fired incident in Carbondale on Sunday.

The Carbondale Police Department said on December 1, at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500-block of South Beveridge for a shots fired report.

Once they got to the scene, police said a gray Toyota Sienna van fled the area before officers arrived at the scene.

Police said they learned some shots were fired in the area where a fight happened.

A nearby building was reported to have been damaged from bullets hitting it. The investigation is ongoing.
