(CNN) -- A lawsuit is filed against a gun manufacturer by survivors and relatives of victims of the 2019 shooting in Dayton, Ohio.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is representing the victims and victim families.
It says this could be the first time legal action is being taken solely on the marketing and sale of high-capacity magazines.
The suit is asking for damages and an injunction against the defendant Kyung Chang industry, a company known as KCI. It wants to prevent them from selling their 100-round large capacity ammunition magazines.
Nine people were fatally shot and 31 others injured during the shooting. The shooter was killed by police officers.
