PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- A deputy jailer was arrested after he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said Chief Deputy Jailer Stephen Carter reported to the sheriff's office information about a deputy jailer having an inappropriate relationship with one of the inmates.
The sheriff's office started investigating and interviewed other inmates. The sheriff's office claims the deputy jailer was having inappropriate sexual contact with a female inmate and gave the inmate items in which he was not supposed to give her.
The deputy jailer was identified as Tyler Hamlet, 27 of Eddyville, Kentucky. Hamlet was arrested and cited with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Official Misconduct 2nd Degree and Promoting Contraband 2nd Degree charges. He was then taken to the Marshall County Jail.
