CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WSIL) -- A high-speed pursuit involving the Sesser and Christopher Police Departments ended in a dramatic collision early this morning.
Officers from Christopher said they joined the chase after the suspect vehicle sped north on Illinois Route 148. The pursuit concluded in Waltonville when police said the suspect struck a squad car head-on.
Police reported using tasers to apprehend the suspect, identified as Scott T. Danaha, 54, of Sandovall, Ill. He was evaluated at a local hospital before being taken into custody by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The Christopher officer involved was also treated at a hospital and released without any major injuries. Danaha faces several felony charges, including aggravated fleeing, reckless driving and aggravated battery.
