(WSIL) -- The Illinois Supreme Court has issued an order pausing the transition to new appellate court districts.
The Supreme Court says this will give the courts time to plan and implement the changes.
RELATED:
This is the first time the court districts have changed since they were established in 1964.
The order states that appeals and other matters will continue to be filed in the judicial districts as they existed on June 3, 2021, until further order of the Court.
E-filing and case management systems software updates, redistribution of staffing and judicial resources, and training of judicial stakeholders and education of the public and members of the bar are among the changes that will be implemented in Illinois.
