K9 sniffs out drugs during traffic stop in West Frankfort, three taken to jail

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. -- Three people face charges after drugs and a gun were found during a traffic stop in West Frankfort.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said on October 26, at about 11:41 p.m., a sheriff's deputy pulled over a vehicle in West Frankfort.

The deputy, along with K9 Vader, started investigating. K9 Vader started sniffing the outside of the vehicle and had a positive indication there was narcotics in the vehicle.

The officers then searched the vehicle and searched the three people inside the car as well. The sheriff's office said they found methamphetamine and paraphernalia. A gun was also found on one of the people during a search as well.

Hunter D. Karns-Glen, 19 of West Frankfort, faces a charge of possession of a firearm without FOID card.

Montana S. Moore, 25 of West Frankfort, faces charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Misty D. Shalabi, 42 of West Frankfort, faces a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were taken to the Franklin County Jail.
