Man accused of punching child now in custody

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (WSIL) -- The suspect police say punched a child who was dancing in the street has turned himself into police.

The incident happened on July 3 around 11:40 p.m. in downtown Cape Girardeau.

Investigators identified the suspect as Cedric Moore through video of the incident.

According to a press release, Moore turned himself into the Scott County Sheriff's office Wednesday afternoon.

Moore is charged with felony assault and felony child endangerment.

Moore’s bond has been set at $50,000.00 cash only.

Your concern for decency and your tips on his whereabouts left this violent suspect with nowhere else to hide and helped to lead to his peaceful surrender,� –Cape Girardeau Police Sergeant Joey Hann said.
