MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a suspect involved in multiple narcotic sales after an investigation starting back in January.

The sheriff's office said Eric Gillihan, of Marion, sold illegal narcotics to undercover deputies on several occasions in January 2025.

Deputies conducted controlled purchases at Gillihan's residence on January 23, 24 and 29, the sheriff's office stated.

Following these transactions, authorities said they obtained arrest warrants for Gillihan, however, they were not able to find him at first.

On April 17, deputies said they located Gillihan on Michael Lane in Marion and arrested him without incident. The sheriff's office said they found multiple pills on him, identified as Clonazepam, a class 4 controlled substance.

“These undercover investigations remove drugs from our community and hold those who commit criminal activity accountable," said Sheriff Jeff Diederich.

Gillihan was taken to the Williamson County Jail and was cited for possession of a controlled substance, had three outstanding warrants for delivery of controlled substance and an arrest warrant for criminal trespass to a vehicle.
