PITTSBURG (WSIL) -- A Williamson County man is facing charges after an incident Monday night on Fowler School Road.
Billy Joe Williams, 46, of Pittsburg, is charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon, domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and reckless conduct.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office was called to Fowler School Road around 6:10 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired.
Deputies says Williams had been in a "domestic altercation" with family members, grabbed a rifle and began shooting at them. Williams also fired several shots into vehicles and buildings on the property.
When authorities arrived, Williams went in his home and refused to come out.
The Williamson County Special Response Team, Illinois State Police, Marion Police, Illinois Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad, along with crisis negotiators, responded to the scene.
The sheriff's office says Williams was taken into custody without incident after several hours of negotiations.
He's being held in the Williamson County Jail pending a court appearance.
