BARDWELL, Ky. (WSIL) -- A sergeant, who works at a local detention center, is accused of trafficking a controlled substance recently.
The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office said the River Counties' Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force assisted Kentucky State Police (KSP) and investigated a person who was accused of being involved in a hand-to-hand transaction at a Huck's Gas Station in Bardwell.
KSP Trooper Rice was able to get surveillance video from the store for April 10, the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) reported. The CCSO then said Trooper Rice identified Robert Scott Hill as one of the people involved.
"The complainant stated that they observed an individual wearing a badge that participated in the transaction. Hill had just got off work from the Ballard County Detention Center before traveling to Huck’s to purchase Hydrocodone tablets," the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office stated as part of a press release stated on their Facebook page.
The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office stated Hill was going to the Ballard County Jail in the early morning hours on April 14, and was located by the Task Force and was then taken into custody. The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office said, when Hill was arrested, he had four handguns and hydrocodone tablets in his possession.Â
Hill also confessed he purchased hydrocodone tablets on April 10, 2025, according to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office.
Hill was then taken to the McCracken County Jail.
