CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Two juveniles were arrested in connection to a shots fired investigation in Carbondale over the weekend.

The Carbondale Police Department said their officers responded to the 1000-block of East Grand Avenue for a shots fired report at 3:27 a.m. on November 17.

While officers were investigating this report, they said they heard some shots fired in the area of the 400-block of East College Street.

Police said they learned the shootings happened from some people who knew each other, however, there were no injuries reported.

After investigating the second shots fired incident, police said officers found two juveniles and arrested them, both of which face charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

One gun was found and recovered during one of the arrests, police added.

Both juveniles were then taken to a juvenile detention facility, one of which was declined and then released after a court hearing. Upon the release, a monitoring device was ordered for the juvenile until the next court appearance, police said.

Anyone with any information in regards to these shooting incidents are encouraged to report it to the Carbondale Police Department at 618-549-2121.
