MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL)—On Tuesday, April 22, Deaconess Illinois Crossroads is hosting a Free Community Health Fair.Â
Organizers say the event has the largest number of vendors they've ever had for these events.Â
Attendees will gain access to health services and resources, as well as free health screenings. Additionally, information will be available about mental health, legal planning, and initiatives aimed at improving the health of a community.
Officials say the public can be screened for various conditions, including blood pressure, glucose, and even thyroid laboratory draws.Â
In a statement by Deaconess Illinois Crossroads, Melissa Sons, the Regional Director of Case Management, says, "We’re proud to bring together so many organizations with a shared commitment to community health. Whether you're coming for screenings, information, or to connect with support services, we want every person who walks through the doors to leave feeling empowered and cared for."
Organizers say registration is not required and is free and open to everyone.Â
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rolland Lewis Building.
