...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values up to near 105.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Death investigation underway in Carbondale

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Carbondale police are investigating after a man and his wife were found dead in their home. 

On October 18, just before 7 p.m. Carbondale officers responded to the 700 block of West Main Street in reference to a welfare check. 

Officers found Steven Lusk, 41, and his wife Montoya Moore, 40, dead.

The Jackson County Coroner’s Office was contacted and will conduct an investigation to determine cause of death. At this point in the investigation, it is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the public.

The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
