The Williamson County Sheriff confirms a death investigation is underway in the "North/East side of Williamson County.
No other details have been released at this time.
The sheriff is working with multiple local and state agencies.
ORIGINAL STORY
WILLIAMSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- Multiple police agencies are on the scene of a possible death investigation in Marion.
Just after 12:00 p.m. Saturday, officers with the Marion Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff's Office, and Illinois State Police were called to a home on Songbird Rd, just north of the Khoury League Baseball Park.
The entire property is currently an active crime scene.
Neighbors tell News 3 that they could hear screaming and crying coming from the home before police began to swarm the area. Neighbors also say they saw a body taken away from the home.
A K-9 unit is also on scene searching nearby wooded areas. There's no official word yet from police on what the search is for.
The investigation is being conducted by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and Illinois State Police. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office did tell us an update will be released later today.
