Sherry Habbe, Douglas's mother, shared a message with News 3 to the anonymous donor who gave her son a kidney.
"To the donor: you have no idea how grateful and blessed we are to receive this gift of life. You are an amazing person and an answer to our prayers. I hope we can meet one day to express our thanks, and he or she can meet Douglas."

Douglas has come out of his transplant surgery and is recovering well.

(WSIL) -- A 7-year-old Nashville, Illinois boy is finally getting a new kidney!
Douglas Habbe suffers from Prune Belly Syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by partial or complete absence of the stomach muscles and/or urinary tract malformations..
Doctors were able to diagnose Douglas while Sherry was pregnant, but he still spent 84 days in the NICU after he was born.

Sherry Habbe, Douglas' mother, started a  to update everyone on how Douglas is doing, but also to help potential donors find out about Douglas.
She posted Wednesday saying, "Labs were drawn today when Douglas port was accessed. This is the highest I’ve ever seen his creatinine (indication of kidney function)Praise God he is getting a new kidney tomorrow. Please say a prayer for the generous person who is giving Douglas the gift of life tomorrow."
