John A. Logan College extends president's term through 2029

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The John A. Logan College Board of Trustees extended President Dr. Kirk Overstreet's contract through 2029, ensuring his leadership for key upcoming initiatives.

Trustee Dr. Glenn Poshard expressed gratitude for the positive impact made by a college leader during a recent meeting.

Dr. Poshard thanked Overstreet before the vote for the positive organizational changes and overall direction of the college during his tenure, including enrollment and upcoming construction projects.

Dr. Overstreet has been leading the college since January 2021, focusing on student success and institutional growth.

In other board actions, Smith and Bill Kilquist were re-elected to six-year terms, and Zoren Anako Mohamad Ali was seated as the Student Trustee for a one-year term. The board also appointed Smith as Chair, Jake Rendleman as Vice Chair, and Becky Borgsmiller as Secretary.
