...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Nearly 400 Celebrated at Rend Lake College Commencement Ceremony

INA, Ill. (WSIL) -- Rend Lake College celebrated another milestone with its 58th Annual Commencement Ceremony. The event took place on the RLC track and featured the conferral of more than 650 degrees and certificates.

The college held two ceremonies where 387 students received 665 occupational certificates and associate degrees. Board of Trustees Chair Larry Manning and Vice Chair Brian Dorris presented the degrees and certificates to the graduates.

They were joined by fellow board members Jeff Jones, Ron Daniels, Joe Coy, and Tony Wielt. Student Trustee Henry Meinert, President Terry Wilkerson, and Executive Vice President/President Designee Lori Ragland also participated in the ceremonies.

Dr. Jared Kemling, Academic Council Chair and Philosophy Professor, announced the graduates.
