INA, Ill. (WSIL) -- A large donation to the Rend Lake College Foundation will help with electrical and hardware supplies for the new Southern Illinois Manufacturing Academy in Mt. Vernon.
The Rend Lake College Foundation (RLCF) said they received a $50,000 donation from Intermountain Electronics which will go towards providing electrical and hardware equipment for the new academy facility.
The donation for RLCF includes LED lights for cabinets, spools of wire, hardware fasteners, electronic cabinet enclosures and more.
"The donation will be used across several classes in building and designing student projects as well as used in lab classes," said Chris Sink, Director of the Southern Illinois Manufacturing Academy. "Donations like these really help us build up and strengthen our classes and have a positive impact on student learning."
