BENTON (WSIL) -- There's a new Halloween attraction in southern Illinois, a haunted trail called Little Swamp of Horror.
Kady Lampley, whose father is putting everything together, has taken scares from around the country and brought them to the region.
"My dad has always loved Halloween, and has always loved going to haunted attractions," she explains. "He toured more than 1,500 attractions and drew inspiration from those and brought them here to southern Illinois."
Guests walk a mile-long trail in the dark, which means no cell phone lights or flash lights. Instead, glow sticks will be worn to illuminate the way.
It's a one-way trek, so there's no turning back once those who dare to venture get started.
"It's going to be scary, " Lampley says. "Be prepared because anything can happen."
No children under the age of 18 are allowed without parental supervision.

Zombies, witches, and Leatherface are just some of the spooks that will make an appearance but where along the trail? There's no telling.
"It's going to be different every night, so you never know what to expect," Lampley warns.
All the screams are for a good cause, those who bring five non-perishable food items or an unwrapped toy will receive $5 off of admission.
"We know that this year, there are a lot of people struggling. Some people might not have jobs right now," Lampley explains. "The holiday season is coming up, so with the food and toys we wanted to be able to give back."
In addition to that, 10% of the proceeds will go to the Benton High School for it's Fine Arts Department.
"It's very close to my heart," Lampley recalls. "I participated in it for four years when I was in high school."
Several food trucks will be at Little Swamp of Horror selling bites and drinks.
