MT. VERNON, IL. (WSIL) -- A Jefferson County family is remembering their fallen hero, while helping hundreds of veterans and their families.
A food giveaway is being put on by the . Price, a local Marine, paid the ultimate sacrifice in 2006 while serving in Iraq.
800 boxes of food will be given away with each containing 35 pounds of meat, fresh produce and dairy.
This marks one of three giveaways being put on by the group. The first took place in February where 800 vets were given help.
The next upcoming event will take place on Saturday, March 27th at the Roadhouse Harley Davidson in Mt. Vernon from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The next will be Saturday, April 24th also at Road House Harley Davidson from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. That event will be followed by a memorial ride for Price.
