...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Carterville IL. (WSIL) -- After last nights round of heavy rain we finally take a little bit of a break and get some dry time in today. We will still see mostly cloudy skies persist across the area with an isolated shower chance. Overall, expect a mostly dry day today and tonight everywhere.

Hourly

Temperatures only getting into the middle and upper 70s today for highs. Lows tonight should drop into the low 60s and upper 50s as we wake up tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be very similar to today with mostly cloudy skies, temperatures in the 70s, and a dry day. Enjoy the dry time while it lasts because a wash out could be in store Thursday night into Friday across our region.
