ELDORADO (WSIL) -- Ferrell Hospital celebrated it's $34 million expansion Friday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The project added 55,000 square feet of space to the hospital, nearly doubling its size.
As well as a new emergency department, the addition features 15 new private rooms, cafeteria and more.
"It's an amazing day. It's a historical day for Ferrell Hospital. Started in 1925. Our most recent addition before today was in 1974, so this is a historical momentous occasion," said Ferrell Hospital CEO Alisa Coleman.
The new space will be open to the public November 30th.
