HERRIN (WSIL) -- If you are in need of food the Herrin House of Hope is here to help.
The Herrin pantry received a large donation of perishable items from Cusumano and Sons in Mt Vernon and will be giving away groceries to the community.
Starting Wednesday, June 10, the pantry will give out produce and dairy products to anyone in need.
Director John Steve says this is a great way for House of Hope to provide healthy meals for the community.
"It's so much of a blessing that they are providing every week that they are able to, we're able to not only utilize that in our daily meals, but we also have enough to continue to bless the neighborhood," said Steve.
Steve says they plan on continuing the giveaway every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on a first come, first serve basis, as long as they keep receiving the large food shipments.
